Low Voltage Soft Starters: RVS-AX

An Analog Soft Starter for Small to Medium Motors

The RVS-AX is an easy to use electronic three phase control Soft Starter including an internal bypass. By supplying a slowly increasing voltage, it provides a soft start and a smooth linear acceleration, while drawing the minimum current necessary to start the motor. A soft stop feature can be enabled with the Ramp-Down Potentiometer. Upon a stop signal, the motor’s voltage is slowly reduced to zero. The RVS-AX incorporates built-in motor protection. Control voltage is not required to operate the RVS-AX.

Motor and Starter Protection

  • Electronic Overload – Inverse time Electronic Overload. Operational at end of acceleration process
  • Phase Loss – Operational when starter is energized and protects the motor from single phasing. Trips the starter when one or two phases are missing for more than 1 sec.
  • Heatsink Over Temperature Protection – A thermal sensor mounted on the heatsink trips the starter when the temperature rises.
  • Fault logic, Trip and Reset circuits. When a protection operates, the starter locks in fault mode, disabling SCR firing, the LED indicates the fault, and the Trip contact closes
